You could potentially pull off quite alot since you own Nexus. I would actually say stick to what you are currently doing, but you need to boost your Kicks and your leads to be louder and punchier. I think this would sound better if it was widened some more and you you made the piano more atmospheric with some deeper reverb and if you used only used half-as many notes. The Piano could sound great, but it's being played at the same velocity at the start too many times.

Experiment with other genres, it's helpful. Trust me, I went through a phase myself where I was doing some of everything and I had no clue. Then I fell in love with the whole EBM/Aggrotech Industrial sound after stumbling upon it one day :P

I'm going to subscribe to you as a fan here and on your new Soundcloud page since I do want to hear how your tracks will morph over time with practise and different structuring :)

ToxInjection responds:

Thanks for the review, first of all! It's always nice getting these, no matter what they say.

I hear you, those end up being drowned out sometimes, and since those are pretty big factors in trance, I should keep a look out for them more! I'll definitely keep this in mind next time I try out trance again.

I've been thinking of experimenting more too. I contemplated touching drumstep and trap. Guess you gotta throw yourself in before you can really make some good quality stuff!

I really appreciate it dude! I know it'll be a while before I get really good, but the vote of encouragement really helps a lot. It truly means a lot to me <3

The track needs widening and it sounds like it's been over-compressed. The drums when you next mix could be slightly louder.

Other than that, the vocals are good and the track is fine. If it was mastered better, it would sound alot better though dude ;)

Glammetaldude responds:

Thanks dude, will make the changes :)

Dude, if this is off of the album, can you please link me to the full album? Or have you not finished making it yet? :)

Anchorwind responds:

In Progress. Can be seen here: http://anchorwind.net/2/mother-machine/

That bouncy, distorted lead around 0:17 onwards is really addictive to listen to, I need to find out how I can try and recreate that lead!
I do like this track, breaking it down part-by-part it seems to sound like a small collection of possibly Psychoacoustics included? Anyway it sounds decent mastering-wise, everything is nice, loud and clear without it being over-the-top and the pads do sound pretty nice, guessing some extra reverb was added.

Yesh Deshiel is crazy :)

DESHIEL responds:

if you want i can give you the flp, maybe you will find what you were looking for there.
Message me if you want it ;)

Dayum, that's some nice nice distortion-work in some of those sounds. The track overall sounded sharp & clear to listen to. The lower frequencies seemed a little weak, but for this loop it isn't a problem.

Good work, had this looped for awhile while I was cleaning up my desk and I found myself nodding my head along to the loop :)

Anchorwind responds:

Years later, I agree. I'm coming back through and have decided to clean up titles, label art, and add tags.

Why not?

It's also a nice excuse to take an introspective trip. Wince at myself a bit here and there.

This is damn awesome! I just upgraded to a pair of Monitoring Speakers today so this is one of the first tracks I've tested them out on and I'm impressed. The guitar work is awesomesauce, the atmospheric pads are beautiful and the vocals go with the track very well.

Enjoy having a new fan dude :)

DivoFST responds:

Thanks for the comment!
Having new fans is my main goal so a thousand thanks to you sir!!!

The beat is pretty damn decent & Gritty, the pattern accompanied by the nasty synths making the track feeling chaotic & destructive without it being over-the-top. Mastering-wise it sounds good aswell.

Pretty decent stuff here overall bro :)

Anchorwind responds:

Always nice to see someone take time out to write a review, much appreciated. I still like Poison Throne :)

I thought it sounded rather nice to listen to. It might not be the most original or the most technical but it's still got a nice flow to it and it does come together as a track overall quite well. I think it would sound even nicer with some good clean vocal-work added in if you ever got the chance to find a vocalist to contribute.
The recording sounds pretty high-quality aswell, if you used a mic to record the Acoustic-work then may I ask what model microphone you used to record with? If not then never-mind, just curious :)

RayGinzburg responds:

This particular track my friend help be record. I am not sure what mic he used but I can find out. I'm glad you liked it check out the full EP at http://soundcloud.com/rayginzburg/sets/barriers-of-flight/

I really do love how well-mastered the pads & the plucked synths sound, the whole track overall sounds pretty damn good. Well done bro :D

EuphoriaSound responds:

Thank you sir :D

More techno and less Metal although the lead guitarused is quite nice. The Kick is nice and stompy aswell!

Have you ever heard of a band called 'The Browning'? They do a very good Mixture between techno/Trance and Metal. Check out a track by them called 'Standing On the Edge'. If you can pull off something like that then I will be impressed :)

DESHIEL responds:

Thanks for the tip, I'll take a look at how they are doing it :)
