Bear Grills special ;D
Pretty damn awesome.
I'm quite curious as to what Distortion VST you are using or if you are making it in whatever Soft-synth you are using?
How to emerge with these kind of sounds? Go out and obtain some horrible life experiences. Pick up a piece of gear like the Metasonix S-1000 and turn off the lights. Fumble around in the darkness with the various patch overrides and the clumsiness of foreign technology. Find out how hot the tubes can get and deal with the awkward cover. Isolate and immerse yourself in abrasive sounds. Learn how to work a MIDI-CV Conversion. Throw away your first project. Keep the lights off. Tell the story that doesn't need to be told with sounds no one wants to hear. When you're done, let it speak for itself and walk away. Smile at those that enjoy and share with those that understand. Then do it all again.
It's a nice track, like what was stated below I can hear the pads you used does suit it's emotional tone.
Like stated below, the bass does sound over distorted. Also a little something to think on: see how the Snare sounds if you add some Reverb to it and make it slightly quieter, it might work or it might not, depends on the style you are going for :P
Thanks for the review, man! Yeah, I had a bit of a struggle with mixing the bassline and making it as prominent as I wanted it to be without making it distorted. That was the closest I could come to a compromise, but I'll definitely work harder on it on future releases!
I'll definitely keep the snare tip in mind. In fact, I already plan on using it for my next track! :D
Have you ever heard of a band called Bunget (or are they a main influence)?
This really, really reminds me of their work in a way, it's particularly similar to some of their material on the album 'Vîrstele I do legitimately enjoy tracks like this, the atmosphere in these kind of tracks is quite diverse and beautiful in it's own sense. IT always sound like some being of forboding omnipotence floating through a void of his own heaven. A bright white sky and fog is always what it reminds me of strangely enough.
I might just have to subscribe and hope you pull off more of these type of tracks in the future :)
Wow, that's an unexpected review. Glad you enjoyed it. Never heard of the band, I'll look them up. It sounds like you have a very vivid imagination. It's always interesting to read about the places people go to in their minds when listening to music. Thanks for listening
I could just imagine this track playing in a Physics puzzle game in the background. The track itself sounds like it has an interesting mix of leads/instruments in, Personally I liked how the bass and the pad mixed in with each other. Mastering-wise it sound nice and clean and while the end sounds quite minimalist it has it's own progressing mood to it.
Nice work overall dude :)
Mixing is something I have trouble with and is usually the cause of me giving up, so that's slightly encouraging. Cheers for the comment!
There were some quite harsh sounds in the tracks which actually mixed in surprisingly well. The composition sounds decent and it all fits in together. I'll have to now check out the origonal and compare the two :)
I'm glad you enjoyed, but I'm sorry it was 'surprisingly' well :). I'll try to not set the standards so low in the future [he said knowingly].
I'll be interested to see how this turns out once you have finished it.
I was thinking about a geting a guy with a real guitar to cover some parts for me ;D
Calming, light-toned yet detailed. I like it dude :)
I write things of this nature when I feel like I've written myself into a corner. The creative mind needs to reset from time to time.
Thanks.
An enjoyable listen, very nice! The kick was nice and stompy and with the softer leads, it felt dream-like in a sense, like having a rave in your dreams.
Mastering-wise, it came out nice and clear, tight & everything pretty much EQ'ed perfectly.
I might have to subscribe and be a fan :3
ah thanks ! =) im happy you like it ..
Not bad at all.
I can identify a beat, or maybe it's morphing between different timings underneath the track. I can appreciate the complexity in the track itself. The backing FX (the airy clanging) does work nicely.
What kind of grinds my gears in this is the bass-note which first appears around 0:20 and then repeats itself every 14-15 seconds or so. It sounds too intense for the track in all honesty. If it was quieter, it would sound better (in my opinion at least).
Overall, a pretty kewl experiment :)
Thanks for your review.^^
